Outdoors Cards/renewals and fishing licenses may be purchased online. Please visit http://www.huntandfishontario.com. If you prefer not to purchase online there are plenty of locations (Ontario Tourism Building when you cross the border, Dryden, Ignace, Sioux Lookout) along the way where they can be purchased. For specific vendors you can ask us. Please remember your Fishing or Hunting outdoors card is valid for 3 years and is required in order to purchase your fishing or hunting license. If it has expired please bring it with you as it makes renewing easier and faster.
Pertaining to a conviction – if 10 years has passed since the conviction and there have been no other arrests you will be allowed to enter. There are new border guidelines for DUI offences. If less than 10 years has passed, you may need to apply for rehabilitation through IRCC (Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada). You can expect a fee of $150 U.S. funds for this service.

Boater Certificate
There is now a requirement in Canadafor boat operators to have a certificate indicating proof of competency to operate a boat. See http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-paperwork-paperwork_operator-360.htm . This is available in a few ways.
Option 1:
A Canadian Boater’s certificate can be acquired online. It takes a few hours and depending on the site is $50-$60. This certificate does not expire. See http://www.boaterexam.com/canada/
Option 2:
Have a boater’s certificate issued in a US jurisdiction such as your home state or coast guard. Many already have this as some states have mandatory boater’s regulations. See United States Power Squadrons http://www.americasboatingcourse.com/index.cf
Option 3:
This may be the easiest option for you if you don’t already hold a certificate. We can issue you a temporary certificate, at no cost, and only takes a few minutes. This certificate is only valid for the duration of your stay.
